He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Sutcliffe Sr. and Jane Bullock Sutcliffe; and his brother Howard Sutcliffe, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Lily Sutcliffe; and his sons, William Sutcliffe and Jeffrey Sutcliffe. He is also survived by five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; and special friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Double Creek Church of Christ Cemetery Fund, 674 Double Creek Church Road, Dobson NC 27017.
