She was predeceased by: her parents, Guy Franklin and Bertha Upchurch Galyean; her former husband Harvey Lee Thomas; her husband Verlon Marshall; her sons, Roy Lee Thomas and Donald Marshall; and her siblings, Barbara Cave, Mildred Patino, Fredna Puckett, Vera Bledsoe, Frances Payne, Charlie Galyean, Joe Galyean, Haywood "Elwood" Galyean and Pete Galyean.
She is survived by: her children, Janice, C. W. Newman of Dobson, Arlis Thomas of Mount Airy, Glenda Carter of Denver and Judy Fulda of Mount Airy; and her brothers, James "Buck" Galyean of Lexington and Ronnie Wyatt of Mount Airy. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren.
