He was predeceased by: his parents, James Greer Bare and Virginia Anderson Bare; and his brothers, Ricky Bare and Ronnie James Bare. He is survived by: his wife Maria Cisneros Bare; his children, Kimberly Bare and Jimmy Bare; his grandchildren, Ayumji Bare and Leon Bare; and his sister Brenda Meadows.
