He was predeceased by: his brother Gary Mayes; and his mother Betty Jean Jenkins. He is survived by: his wife Tooty; his children, Dianne Smith (Steve) and James Mayes (Laura); his grandchildren, Chera Hankins (Caleb), Elijah Hodges and Ann-Marie Grace Mayes; his sisters, Norma Whitaker (JE) and Betty Nichols (David); his aunt Sue; his uncle Jake Shelton; his siblings-in-law, Victor Jenkins and Lisa Jenkins; and his nephew Brian Jenkins.
