It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hazel Mildred Higgins Wood (Dobson, North Carolina), who passed away on August 9, 2021, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Higgins and Tressie Crouse; her husband Dean Wood; and her brothers, William Higgins and Louie Higgins.
She is survived by: her daughter Conchita Atkins (Wayne) of Dobson; her granddaughter Amanda Hawks (Sparky) of Dobson; her great grandchild Jenna Hawks of Dobson; her siblings, Georgia DeBord (Booker) of Sparta, James Higgins (Frances) of Dobson, Lloyd Higgins (Judy) of Cana, VA and Lonnie Higgins (Debbie) of Thurmond; and her sister-in-law Betty Higgins of Thurmond. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
