It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alva Rae Lloyd Dixon (Dobson, North Carolina), born in Surry, Virginia, who passed away on January 2, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Lloyd and Ruby Shores Lloyd; her husband Homer Dixon; and her siblings, Willie Lloyd, Samuel Lloyd, Faye Barker, Alma Todd and Mary Lloyd.

She is survived by: her siblings, Janie Dimmette, Pansy Layell, Jean Lloyd, Foy Lloyd and Rev. Claude Lloyd.
