He is survived by: his children, Kristy Freeman (Kevin), Debbie Adams (Chris), Kelly Sherrill (Duke) and Benny Hipp, Jr. (Amanda); his sister Kathy Whisnant; his grandchildren, Samantha Hipp, Ashley Sherrill and Kristen Sherrill Helms; and his great grandchildren, Aidan Helms and Mason Helms.
