She was predeceased by: her mother Mattie McGinnis; her sisters, Johnsie Merritt, Sara Puckett and Edna Duckworth; and her nephew Larry Kiser.
She is survived by: her husband Walter Frank Chastain Jr.; and her daughters, Penny Johnson of Denver, NC, Terry Shoemake (Gary) of Southport, NC, Vicky Chastain (Jimmy Melton), Frany Hardy, Wendy Wise (David) of Cornelius, NC and Sandy Danner (Ben) of Southport, NC.. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren.
