He is survived by: his wife Louise Moses Burgess; his sons, Tracy Burgess (Cindy), Mark Burgess (Louan) and Keith Burgess (Millicent) of Charlotte, NC; his sister Phyllis Lewis (Terry) of England; his grandchildren, Kelsey Burgess, Jessi Burgess Sanford (Jordan), Rachel Burgess, Nathan Burgess, Benjamin Burgess, Andrew Burgess and Annabeth Burgess; and his great grandchildren, Easton and Aiden Sanford A.
