She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Madison Hargett and Grace Herron Hargett; and her siblings, Arvin Hargett, Odean Hargett, Marlin Hargett, Ruby McLeod, Dorothy Shook and Arzell Rankin.

She is survived by: her husband Robert Loyd Ridenhour, Sr.; her children, Robert Loyd Ridenhour, Jr. (Claudia) of Charlotte, Jimmy Wayne Ridenhour (Teena) of Stanley, Dawn Renee Simpson of Mt. Pleasant and Grace Rippy (Tony) of Denver; and her brother Carl Hargett of Las Vegas, NV. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
