He is survived by: his wife Margaret Lucille Metts Smith; his children, Gregory F. Smith of Delco, Gary F. Smith (Susie) of Riegelwood, Melanie Trexler (Dan Ferrell) of Leland and Melissa Skipper (Richard) of Castle Hayne; and his siblings, Marvin Smith of Richlands, NC, Gloria Mooring (Allen) of La Grange, NC, Anna L. Craft (Nelson) of Trenton, NC, Mary Lee of New Bern and Glenda Holley (Robert) of Rocky Point, NC. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
