She was predeceased by: her parents, Phin Turner and Myra Turner; her husband F. M. Smith; and her sons, Marion Smith, Jr. and Lynn Smith.
She is survived by: her daughters, Regina Smith Hawkins (Bill) of Deep Run and Karen Smith Hall of Kinston; her grandchildren, Barry Hawkins (Rebecca) of Kinston, Lindsay Hawkins Howard of Kinston, Corbett Hall (Allie) of Garner, Garrison Hall of Washington, D. C., Justin Smith (Jessica) of Beulaville, Elizabeth Littleton (Scott) of Albertson, Kim Lane (Doug) of Willow Springs and Jamison Tolar of Kinston; and her great grandchildren, Cailey Howard, Eliza Hawkins, Will Hawkins, Riley Smith, Mason Smith, Everleigh Smith, Olivia Thomas, Thomas Howard, Bella Lane and Blake Lane.
A funeral service was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Pink Hill Funeral Home (1056 NC-11, Pink Hill, NC 28572). A burial was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Pinelawn Memorial Park (4488 US-70, Kinston, NC 28504).
