She was predeceased by: her father Bobby Ray Sheppard. She is survived by: her husband John P. Gardner; her mother Virginia Sheppard of Kinston; and her siblings, Bobbie Brockwell of Raleigh and Horace Sheppard of Kinston. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
