He was predeceased by: his parents, James Coy and Sallie Caroline Brown Freeman. He is survived by: his close friend Dallas; his siblings, J. D. Freeman, J. C. Freeman, A. L. Freeman, Dahl Freeman, Vernon Freeman, Florine Freeman Cobb and Lois Freeman Stallings; his daughter-in-law Angelique Wyatt Freeman; his granddaughter Alyssa Hope Freeman; his close friends, Ray (Mervin) and Bull; his wife Chellie Lucille Gray Freeman; his stepchildren, Daryl Freeman (Karen) of Deep Run, NC, Rebecca Freeman Jones (Mark) of Kinston, NC, Merry Freeman Martin (Paul) of Norwood, NC and Sandy Freeman Matos of Deep Run, NC; his siblings, Jessie Freeman Lee, Linda Freeman Smith of Deep Run, NC and Lloyd "Pee Wee" Freeman of Deep Run, NC; his nephews, Doug Freeman of Kinston, NC and Steve Freeman of Morehead City, NC; and his adoptive daughter Amy Goff. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
