She was predeceased by: her parents, John Presnell and Cora Presnell; her husband Wilburn Ward; her sons, Sgt. Larry Grant Ward, John Basil Ward and Tony Arland Ward; and her brothers, Clark, Clate, Charlie and Nathan Presnell.
She is survived by: her children, Ricky Ward of Boone, Gary Ward (Charlotte) of Asheville, Wilburn Ward (Betty) of Johnson City, Richard Ward (Joyce) of Gastonia, Wayne Ward (Christy) and Regina Mettam (Charles) of Boone. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
