He is survived by: his children, Tiffany Reece of Banner Elk, Heather Ward (Jamie) of Todd, Dakota Ray of Deep Gap and Casey Ray; his grandchildren, Kendall, Grant Reece of Banner Elk, Charlie and Brady Cleve Ward of Todd; his sisters, Ramona Proffitt of Boone and Myra Hayler (David) of Boone; his nieces, Marissa Million and Cheyenne Hayler; and his nephew Matthew Proffitt.
