He was predeceased by: his brothers, Earl Roten and Buel Roten. He is survived by: his wife Celia Graham Roten; his children, Ivan Carl Roten (Dana) of Boone and Cara Roten-Henson (Rusty) of Vilas; his siblings, Vernon Roten (Lena Ruth) of West Jefferson, Woodrow Roten of California, Conley Roten (Brenda) of Warrensville and Ruby Whittington (Jack) of Winston-Salem; and his grandchildren, Graham Roten of Boone and Marshal Roten of Boone. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
