She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Heglar and Pauline Walker Heglar; and her brother Larry Heglar. She is survived by: her husband Kenneth Shires; her sons, Edgar Howard Johnson, Jr. of Sherrills Ford, NC, Scott Leonard Johnson of Iron Station and Jason Boyd Johnson of Thompsons Station, TN; and her siblings, Lance Heglar of Davidson and Pricilla Melchor of Davidson. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
