She was predeceased by : her parents, Charles McCarter and Ruby Whaley McCarter; her brother Jackie C. McCarter; and her nephew Rodney Hudspeth. She is survived by : her children, Robin Leazer Knox (Joe) and Larry Marshall Leazer (Dana Connelly Leazer); her sister Barbara Hudspeth; her grandchild Holli Knox Wilkins (Brandon); her great grandchild Luke; her grandchildren, Joseph Knox and Allison Leazer Hoyle (Steven); her great grandchildren, Jackson, Henry and Sarah Leazer Gaut (Tyler); and her nephew Tim Hudspeth.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 25th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home & Crematory (494 E Plaza Dr, Mooresville, NC 28115). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, June 26th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Umc Cemetery (19600 Zion Ave, Cornelius, NC 28031).
