She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewey A. Shelton and Kate Autry Shelton; her husband Charles Leonard Stephens; her son Kenneth Charles Stephens; and her siblings, Ray, Harold Shelton and Margaret Shelton Dodson.
She is survived by: her daughter Carolyn Stephens Brewer (Byrd); her grandson Alan Brewer (Leslie); her daughter-in-law Connie Stephens; her granddaughter Emmy Stephens Cooper (Ty); and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Meghann Evans, Chelsea Evans, Elijah Evans (Logan), Abigail Evans and Malachi Evans. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Snow Hill Methodist Church (2030 Snow Hill Church Road, Danbury, NC 27016). A celebration of life was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
