He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Margret Mosely and Gregg Robert Evans Sr. Proceeded; his siblings, Loretta Naile, Jo Ann Safley, Helen Mae Mares, Julia Ellen Barrett and Avery Grimes; his wife Betty Surratt (Pickler); his children, Roberta Leake (Surratt), Mary Hornsby (Gary), Angela Owens (Ed), Jayda Nicole Owens, Nathaniel Gregg Surratt and Dalton James Owens; and his siblings, Judy Ernhardt, Mary Delores Waggoner, Daryce Rimmer, Gregg Robert Surratt Jr., Adolph Evans, Dennis Evans and Harvey Evans. He was also cherished by 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.

Due to the current corona virus pandemic, the family will hold a service open to the public at a later date.
