He is survived by: his wife Shirley Bell Alvis; his son Jeromy Alvis (Anna); his stepson Dennis Bridges (Becky); his brother Tim Alvis (Dale); his uncle Rick Smeltzer; and his pet Romeo. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
