She was predeceased by: her parents, John Hallman Gilreath and Thelma May Gilreath. She is survived by: her children, Diane Whitaker Hooks (James), Beth Whitaker Anderson (Joe), Teresa Whitaker Hyde (Mark) and John Floyd Whitaker (Amy); and her sisters, Mary Helen Carpenter and Lynne Gilreath Mathis. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
