He is survived by: his parents, Louise Vera Cates and Thomas Cates; his wife Kelly Melton; his sons, Jeremy Tyler Melton (Johnathan Massey), Cody R Willett (Kelly) and Owen Lane Melton (Tiffany); his siblings, Doug Melton, Brock Cates, Justin Cates and Brent Cates; his mother-in-law Sheila Howard; and his brother-in-law Pastor Tim McCarn. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
