He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard William Lay and Rachel Putman Baldwin; his stepmother Katherine Lay; and his brother Joe Lay. He is survived by: his wife Elaine Lay; his sons, James Lay (Karen), Richard Lay (Donna) and Jeff Lay (Connie); and his sister Kay Cash.
