He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert A Ballard and Addie Brewer Ballard; his wife Ruth Carroll Ballard; and his sister Carolyn Owen. He is survived by: his daughters, Glenda Crowell (Kevin) of Bessemer City and Karen McSwain (David) of Lincolnton; his grandchildren, Danielle Williams (Jameathan), Joshua McSwain and Lydia McSwain; his great grandchildren, Laina, Dalton and Harper Williams; and his brother James Ballard (Virginia). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
