It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evelyn Marie Mabe Johnson of Dallas, North Carolina, born in Henry County, Virginia, who passed away on August 9, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Cundiff Mabe and Lucy Evelyn East; her husband Garfield Johnson Sr.; and her daughters, Phyllis Ann Blackmon and Barbara Jane McCall.

She is survived by: her children, Garfield Johnson Jr., Roger Johnson, Shirley Breedlove (Michael) and Shelly Pope (Scott); and her siblings, Dorine Hardin of Blountville, TN, Linda Johnson, Raymond Mabe (Vickie), John Mabe (Glinda), Tim Mabe (Crystal), Kimberly Ashley, Lauren Mabe, Josheph Mabe and Bill Williams (Gail) of Tennessee. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren.
