It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Emma Sue Calvert Carswell of Dallas, North Carolina, born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, who passed away on February 20, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husbands, Arthur Graham Hooker and Billy V. Carswell; and her brothers, J. C. Calvert (Mary) and Melvin Calvert. She is survived by: her children, Susan H. Robertson of Dallas, NC and Christopher Lee; her daughter-in-law Jan Graham of Gastonia, NC; her brothers, Rev. William (Mary Ann Calvert) and Edward Sandra Calvert of Belmont, NC; her grandchildren, Amy Davis of Dallas, NC, Adam Robertson of Richmond, VA and Robbie Waldrop of Gastonia, NC; and her great grandchild Avery Davis. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
