It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Stamey of Dallas, North Carolina, born in Macon, North Carolina, who passed away on April 6, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Bates and Lassie Mae Bates; her husband Fred Stamey; her daughters, Brenda Stamey and Faye Gori; her daughter-in-law Jennie Stamey; her granddaughter Samantha Stamey; and her siblings, Bobby, Kenneth, Dean Bates, Agnes Brooks and Shirley Calloway.
She is survived by: her children, Jerry Stamey (Martha), Kenny Stamey (Ruthie), Doug Stamey and Michelle Neagle (Jeff); her son-in-law George Gori; her grandchildren, Brian Watts, Derrick Stamey (Christie), Randy Haney, Leslie, Wendy Stamey, Donna Crane (Jeff), Tammy Garland (Kerry), David Hastings (Amanda), Mandy Payne (Ronnie), Rene Nelms (Michael), Heather Neagle Chewning (James) and Megan Neagle Bright (Nick); and her siblings, Deloris Blanton and Murrell Bates. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren: and 4 great-great grandchildren.
