She was predeceased by: her parents, Quince Lamar Rhyne and Maude High Rhyne; her husband Claude A. Hovis; her son-in-law Scott Abernathy; and her siblings, Jake, Ralph, Blair, Phillip, Carroll, Lewis, Bill and Catherine Boggs Postell.
She is survived by: her daughter Lisa Abernathy; her grandchildren, Jon Mark (Amber), Caroline Hovis, Anna (Steve) and Wesley Maxwell (Elizabeth); her stepgreat-granddaughter Hayley McSwain; and her brother Tom Rhyne. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
