He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Hope Costner and Mabel Eastwood Costner; his brother William "Bill" Costner; his children, David and Sherry Costner; and his sister-in-law Patsy Costner.
He is survived by: his wife Janice "Jan" Costner; his children, Lynn Costner, Karen Milazzo (Victor) and Kenneth Costner (Yessica); his brother Ervin Costner; his sister-in-law Francis Costner; his grandchildren, Monica, Kayla, Emily, Eskarleth, Evan, Izzy, Gaby and Tiffany; and his great grandchildren, Bentley, Brailey, Wade and Mia. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
