He was predeceased by: his parents, English Alfred Pittman and Mary Elizabeth Squires Pittman; his sister June Swinson; and his granddaughter Danielle Ann Michelle Phelps. He is survived by: his daughters, Jennifer Lacy (Floyd) and Amanda O'Dell (Timothy); his grandchildren, Steven Zeigler (Riagan), Jasmine Rabon and Avery O'Dell; his great grandchildren, Harlem Dowd, Aleven Dowd and Greyson Taylor; and his sister Elinda Crowningshield (Bill). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other family members.
