He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Rice Stiwinter; his children, Darren Stiwinter of Cullowhee, Scott Stiwinter of Hendersonville, Darrell Stiwinter of Rock Hill, SC and Kay Boggs of Rock Hill, SC; his siblings, Jack Stiwinter of Waxhaw, NC, Ronnie Stiwinter of Franklin and Lola Mae Stewart of Jodytown; and his grandchildren, Drew, Garrett and Hannah. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Stewart Cemetery Fund.
