He was predeceased by: his parents, Lambert Stewart and Polly Williams Stewart; and his brothers, Joe, Lambert and Odell Stewart.

He is survived by: his wife Zoney Ashe Stewart; his sons, Charles Thomas Stewart (Renge) of Japan and Christopher Joe Stewart (Kimberly) of Brevard; his granddaughters, Claudia and Polly; and his siblings, Opal Crandall of Pine Creek and Gene Stewart of Brevard.

“Zoney and Family. Just got a call about Charlie and I am saddened. I worked with Charlie at Brevard College and he was a kind and thoughtful man. He was so talented and skilled worker. College Facilities Dept. was never the same after he retired. He was really missed. I still have a hammer that he made me to use in my office. Guess he got tired of me going to the shop to borrow a hammer. Condolences and prayers for each of you during this time of loss. Jeanne Peterson Landreth”
