He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter E. Peterson, Sr. and Margaret Powell Peterson; his wife Evelyn Batts Peterson; and his son Maurice Peterson. He is survived by: his daughters, Kimberly P. Phipps of Clinton and Sherri P. Wynn (Michael) of Wilmington; his grandchildren, Chandler Wynn, Michaela Wynn and Rachel Wynn Meadows (Bryan) of Wilmington; and his great grandchildren, Vella, Jaxton and Cade.
