He is survived by: his wife Donna K. Barnes; his daughter Autumn Darnell (Matthew) of West Jefferson; his stepson Steve Hartzog of Charlotte; his grandchildren, Kenleigh Darnell, Harlow Darnell, Connor Hartzog, Olivia Hartzog and Elizabeth Hartzog; and his siblings, Louise Bare of Crumpler, Brenda Roten of Wilkesboro, Carol Bare of Laurel Springs, Linda Parsons (J. D.) of Glendale Springs, Jimmy Miller of West Jefferson, Ronnie Barnes (Teresa) of Taylorsville and David Barnes (Kim) of Jefferson.
