He was predeceased by: his parents, Oren Hopkins and Myrtle Howell Hopkins; and his siblings, Kermit Hopkins, Larry Hopkins, Ricky Hopkins and Oralee Main.
He is survived by: his wife Hazel Turnmire Hopkins; his children, Sandra Hopkins McVey (Bobby) of Crumpler and Rodney Hopkins (Mary) of West Jefferson; his granddaughters, Stephaine McVey Eggers (Luke) of Crumpler, Miranda Hopkins Beck (Charles) of Fleetwood and Kelsye McVey of Crumpler; his great grandchildren, Haleigh Hopkins of Fleetwood, Kolten Beck and Halston Eggers of Crumpler; and his siblings, Nena Bare (Jim) of Millers Creek, Joyce Houck (Ronnie) of West Jefferson, Bobby Hopkins of West Jefferson and Johnny Hopkins of West Jefferson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
