He is survived by: his wife Racheal McNeil; his children, James Joseph Bowman, Margie Vest of Roanoke and Virginia Sandra Bond of Floyd; his stepdaughter Patricia Severt Calloway; his mother Lucille Spangler of Laurel Fork; his brothers, Victor Spangler of Hillsville and Steven Spangler of Laurel Fork; his half-sister Joyce Graham of Virginia; and his stepsister Joyce Daniels of Laurel Fork. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
