He was predeceased by: his parents, Dwight Lee Taylor, Sr. and Grace Rauton Taylor. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Walker Taylor; his children, Dwight Lee Taylor, III (Lori) of Taylorsville and Melanie Taylor of Taylorsville; his sisters, Kathy Hodges (Phil) of Spartanburg, SC and Diane Johnson of Charlottesville, VA; his stepdaughters, Karen Felice Bell (Darin) of Hamptonville and Sherri Lynn Powers of Hamptonville; his grandchildren, Olivia, Alexa, Gracie, Victoria, Nathaniel, Brandon, Ryan, Kayla, Kallie, Cody and Tanner; and his great grandchildren, Bentley, Emily and Aubrey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
