He is survived by: his daughters, Savannah Hughes of Crossnore and Kaleigh Harmon (Devon) of Morganton; his grandchildren, Dawson Shermer, Kinzie Harmon and Dominic Gwyn; his siblings, Jerome Hughes (Shirley) of Lancaster, SC, Hansel Hughes (Patty) of Montrose, MN and Marie Buchanan of Spruce Pine; and the mother of his children Jeannie Hughes of Crossnore.
