He is survived by: his son Mark Forbes (Cassie) of Newland; his granddaughter Lilli Forbes of Newland; and his siblings, David Forbes (Anna Ruth) of Newland, Larry Forbes of Newland, William Forbes of Linville, Judy Watson of Denver, NC, Darlene Watson (Bill) of Newland and Susan Woodie (Norman) of Jonas Ridge.
The family requests that memorials be made to Amorem Hospice Care at 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690, or to Oak Grove Baptist Church at 1790 Miller's Gap Highway, Newland, NC 28657.
