Selvie K. James Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Selvie K. James of Creswell, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 25, 2024 at the age of 81. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Selvie K. James to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Selvie Harley and Ruby Hasseltine Sawyer James; and his siblings, Carlton Sawyer James, Ann Elizabeth James Proctor, Scott Howard James and Roy Harley James (Joyce) of Columbia.
He is survived by: his daughter Tanya James of New Hope; his grandchildren, Brittany Creech (Aaron) of Elizabeth City and David Davenport (Gabrielle) of Creswell; his great grandchildren, Brylie, Piper, Cainnon, Brahm and Della; his son Jeremy James (Kelly) of Creswell; his grandchildren, Trent and Alyssa; his stepchildren, Bryan McIntire and Melissa Mayse; and his stepgrandson Michael. He is also survived by several cousins and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Twiford Funeral Home (405 E Church St, Elizabeth City, NC 27907). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Selvie's honor to Salem Baptist Church, 1401 Salem Church Road, Elizabeth City, NC 27909 or Philippi Church of Christ, 74 Cherry Road, Creswell, NC 27928.
