He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Ann Spruill Williams; his daughters, Sonia W. Rivenbark (Jay) of Edenton and Cher W. Byrum (Mike) of Suffolk, VA; his grandchildren, Asheton Smith (Justin), Joshua Rivenbark (Lynse), Jonathan Byrum (Virginia) and Brandon Byrum (Erin); and his great grandchildren, Tucker, Grier, Mason and Emma.
