He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob R. Spear and Dessie Phelps Spear; his wife Dormanda Haire Spear; and his brothers, Allen, Louis, Wilton, Bill and Raymond Spear.
He is survived by: his children, Carey Spear (Terri) of Creswell, Kathy S. Spruill (Chuck) of Plymouth and Vonda S. McNair (George) of Roper; his sister Ineida S. Davenport of Plymouth; his grandchildren, Chad Spruill (Kristin), Savanna Lilley (John Thomas), Sarah Edge (Scott), Josh Spear (Lupé), Jake Spear (Morgan), Nicholas McNair and Kaitlyn Moore (Mitch); and his great grandchildren, David, Naomi, Daniel, Axel, Tripp, Bodie, Whitton Spear, Harper, Vivienne Exum, Isla Edge, Cody, Madelyn Spruill and Eason Lilley.
