She was predeceased by: her parents, Phillip Murray Spruill and Anna Iolia Turner Spruill; her husband James Harold Gibbs; her daughter Phyllis G. Riffle; and her siblings, Winifred Spruill Brickhouse, Janice Spruill Woodley, William Murray Spruill and James Phillip Spruill.
She is survived by: her daughter Melanie J. Henry of Creswell, NC; and her sisters, Jayne Spruill Opfer of Roper, NC and Brenda Spruill of Edenton, NC. She is also survived by two grandchildren; three great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
