He was predeceased by: his parents, Wade Andrew, Sr. and Elizabeth Ann Baynor Phelps; and his niece Heidi Spear. He is survived by: his wife Kelli Biggs Phelps; his children, Hunter Andrew of Creswell, Evan Wade of Creswell and Reagan Irissa Phelps of Creswell; his sister Sherry Warren (Keith) of Edenton; his niece Holly Holt; his nephew Heath Patrick; his great-nephews, Taylor, Tucker and Aaron; and his great-niece Katline.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a college fund that is being established for his children.
