It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Viola Joines of Creston, North Carolina, born in Mountain City, Tennessee, who passed away on May 12, 2021, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Andy Hammons and Lela Arnold Hammons; her husband Walter Joines Jr.; her siblings, Bernice Payne, Paul Hammons, Elmer Hammons and Dexter Hammons; and her granddaughter Kimberly Hampton Dunn.
She is survived by: her children, Barbara Hampton of Mountain City and Mike Joines (Kathy) of Warrensville, NC; her granddaughter Traci Jones of Abingdon, VA; her great grandchildren, Jeffrey Roark, Allison Roark and Haley Burchette (Alex); her great great grandchild Kyle Burchette; and her close friends, Billie Ruth Tester and Jo Burchett.
