He is survived by: his sisters, Jannette Carpenter Miller, Ruby Carpenter Roland and Minnie Carpenter; his brothers-in-law, Paul Payne and Charles Dixon; and his siblings, ImaJean Payne, Carol Dixon and Darrell Carpenter (Elaine). He is also survived by Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
