He was predeceased by: his parents, Shelton Carpenter and Hilda Carpenter. He is survived by: his wife Ruby Nell Carpenter; his children, Amy Wiley (Chris), Christy Light (Daniel), Dana Paradis (Matt) and Ryan Carpenter (Chelsie); his grandchildren, Brody, Caroline, Bella, James, Brinna, Rowan, Emi and Caelynn; and his siblings, Kirby Carpenter (Linda), Lynn Carpenter (Jane) and Phyllis Pair. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (theaftd.org) or the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Singles/Singles Again Sunday School Class.
