He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Bourner and Evah Bourner; his former wife Janis Yvonne Yeargin Bourner; and his siblings, Carl Bourner and Mary Jane Coward.

He is survived by: his wife June Lindimore Bourner; his daughters, Susan Bourner and Karen Bourner Gibbons; his grandchildren, Grace Gibbons, Sarah Gibbons and Moss Madigan; and also, Ellen Cowart, Jane Conyers Martin and Glen Martin.
